Coronavirus: Abia State Government Places 209 Contacts Under Surveillance


Abia state has followed 209 contacts of the two list coronavirus cases and set them under reconnaissance in a seclusion office.

Boss John Okiyi-Kalu, the Abia Commissioner for Information, uncovered in an announcement made accessible to the News Agency on Nigeria (NAN) in Umuahia.

Okiyi-Kalu said the Abia Rapid Response Team, the Medical Protocol Sub-panel of Abia Inter-Ministerial Committee on COVID-19, and the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Umuahia, were following different contacts of the file cases.

He included that the contact following would proceed and would be centered around Ikwuano, Ukwa West and Umuahia North Local Government Areas of the state.

“All the clinical work force associated with the administration of the patients and their relatives are right now in detachment with tests previously gathered from some of them for testing.

“We are anticipating results for the speculated cases. A group from the World Health Organization (WHO) is offering help,”

He said.

Okiyi-Kalu said that the two file cases were septuagenarians and had fundamental ailments – diabetes, hypertension, coronary illness and left ventricular disappointment.

As indicated by him, the record cases are steady and getting care at the seclusion community in FMC, Umuahia. He said that one of the patients, beforehand on oxygen support, was breathing admirably now with no respiratory guide.
