Executive General of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Salihu Mohammed Lukman, has cautioned that Nigeria would record most noticeably awful losses than America and Europe if the residents keep on opposing the lockdown requested by the national government to shorten the spread of Coronavirus in the nation.
PGF is an umbrella group of governors of states constrained by the All Progressives Congress (APC) party.
In an announcement he gave in Abuja, titled, ‘Battle against spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria: Issues and factors thwarting achievement’, Lukman proposed that the enrollment of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) ought to be extended to incorporate individuals from the National Assembly.
He further regretted the gravity of fear inspired notions and hesitance of the individuals to enter into the fight to control the spread of COVID-19, contending this had hampered the battle against the pandemic.
“The truth of the matter is that given the poor condition of our emergency clinics, in the event that we can’t contain the spread of COVID-19 in Nigeria, the encounters of Italy, Spain, United States, France, and so forth will be a piece of cake. Should that occur, records of cases and passings could be extraordinary. Mixes of high frequencies and poor records of residents in the nation having ailments verging on tuberculosis, hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and so on it is difficult to envision how, as a country we need to hazard such a chance,” Lukman noted.
